TDK (Epcos) produces 9 standard ELP core shapes based on power ferrite materials providing a possibility to manufacture transformers with operating frequency up to 1 MHz (SIFERRIT N49).
ELP ferrite cores are designed for the manufacture of miniature low-profile transformers and chokes which windings are made in the form of tracks on a PCB or (for powerful applications) in the form of insulated layers cut from copper tape.
The advantage of the design of the transformer or inductor on multilayer windings based on ELP ferrite core shapes:
Significant reduction in dimensions and weight of a final coil, low height compared to similar transformers based on ferrites;
High reliability associated with the elimination of manual labor errors during winding process and transformers mounting;
Low production cost in large-scale production;
Longer service life due to improved heat dissipation and robust design;
A smaller value of stray parameters, in particular, leakage inductance. When operating at high frequencies, losses in the windings due to the skin effect and proximity effect are significantly reduced;
High repeatability of coils based on ferrites in series.
These cores are supplied as single units.Ordering code is per piece, 2 pieces are required.
